24 Hours of Le Mans

24 facts that define the 2026 Le Mans grid

The 94th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans will bring together 62 cars, 186 drivers and some of the biggest names in endurance racing. But beyond the familiar headlines, this year’s entry list is packed with fascinating stories, remarkable records and surprising statistics. From a record-low Porsche presence to three generations of the same family competing within 15 years, here are 24 facts and figures that help define the 2026 edition of the world’s greatest endurance race.

2

Only two Porsches are entered this year, compared to seven in 2025. To find fewer than three Porsches on the Le Mans grid, one has to go all the way back to the 1951 edition. On its first appearance at La Sarthe, Porsche entered a single 356 SL.

Prodrive will mark a significant milestone: its 25th consecutive appearance at Le Mans. Working in partnership with leading manufacturers, Prodrive has engineered, built and raced cars across both prototype and GT categories, including Ferrari programmes in the early 2000s and, more recently, a long-term collaboration with Aston Martin. From the V12-powered GT1 era through to today’s GT3 racing landscape, that presence has been defined by six class wins. Race Team Operations Director Paul ‘Drez’ Diggins and Race Team Manager Simon Edwards have been part of all of Prodrive’s 24 previous Le Mans campaigns.

There will be three Jensens on the grid, all competing in LMP2: Mikkel Jensen (United Autosports Oreca 07 #22), Michael Jensen (Algarve Pro Racing Oreca 07 #25) and Theodor Jensen (CLX Motorsports Oreca 07 #37).

5

The number of rookies in the top class: Nick Cassidy (Peugeot 9X8 #93) ⬇️, Théo Pourchaire (Peugeot 9X8 #94), Mathys Jaubert (Genesis GMR-001 #17), Daniel Juncadella (Genesis GMR-001 #19) and Victor Martins (Alpine A424 #36).

2

The number of women on this year’s grid: Doriane Pin (Duqueine Team Oreca 07 #30) and Lilou Wadoux (Richard Mille AF Corse Ferrari 296 LMGT3 Evo #150). To find the last woman to win a class at Le Mans, one has to go back to 1975.

23

With 23 cars if the two Alpine A424s and two Genesis GMR-001s are included, Oreca is the most represented manufacturer on the grid. Ferrari follows with eight entries, while Chevrolet ranks third with seven cars if Cadillac and Corvette are combined. Oreca is also responsible for assembling the Ferrari 296 LMGT3 Evo, five examples of which will take the start this year.

4

Ferrari is chasing a fourth consecutive overall victory at Le Mans. Such a feat would not be unprecedented, having previously been achieved by Bentley (1927-1930), Alfa Romeo (1931-1934), Ferrari (1960-1965), Ford (1966-1969), Porsche (1981-1987), Audi (2004-2008 and 2010-2014) and Toyota (2018-2022).

3

After competing at Le Mans alongside his father, Horst Felbermayr Sr, in 2007, 2009, 2010 and 2011, Horst Felbermayr Jr will now do the same with his son, Horst Felix Felbermayr. It means three generations of Felbermayrs — all sharing the same first name — will have appeared at Le Mans within the space of just 15 years.
