Sébastien Buemi was there when it all began. In 2012, Toyota entered the newly created FIA World Endurance Championship with the TS030 Hybrid, taking on Audi in the LMP1 category. Fourteen years later, the Swiss driver is still racing for the Japanese manufacturer.
The cars have changed, the regulations have evolved and the competition has grown considerably. Buemi, meanwhile, has remained a constant presence.
Along the way, he has claimed four Drivers’ World Championship titles and four victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, establishing himself among the most successful drivers in the endurance racing’s history.
His 100th WEC appearance provides an opportunity to look back at a career that has taken him from the LMP1 hybrid era to today’s Hypercar competition.
In this episode of The Stint Podcast, Buemi reflects on his years with Toyota, the moments that have marked his career and the evolution of a championship he has known since its inception.
